That feeling you get when you do things for the first time.

When I say first time, I think about a song of Lil Corey. "It was the first time that I've ever felt this way inside and I knew that it was real, it was the first time". Everything has a start, I'm talking about that moment when we decide that we're going to try something new. Sometimes we feel the need to do something different, or we're just curios to know what that specific thing will add to our life. We take a risk by doing this, because we don't have any certainty of positive results, but we still try.

But why take risks? Why stepping out of our comfort zone? Why trying something new, when the usual feels so safe?
We do it because there's this thing called adrenaline, this weird nervous but also pleasant feeling people get to experience, that pushes us. We want to face new challenges, see unknown aspects of life, get smarter or just gain some life changing memories. Other times we do stuff just to be part of a group, to fit in.We also do new things trying to find ourselves, we want to understand why we are a certain way. We want to develop our talents.

It doesn't always have to be about big things. I had a life changing moment when I tasted sushi for the first time. I was scared that I wouldn't like that food or that it would taste bad, but I was curious, and sow I took that big step of putting that little weird fishy thing in my mouth. And then... I fell in love...It tastes awesome.
So what if I never tried it? Today I would be missing out on something I really like. There is a difference in my life, I was a sushi notter.. Now I'm a sushi lover .. When was the last time you tried something new/ different? How did it feel?

  1. I totally agree. To grow, you need to step out of your comfort zone and explore new things. Sometimes it's just simple things, but other times stepping out of your comfort zone might have a life changing influence on you.
For example I do not like to be center of attention, but for my major I have to be able to speak in front of a large group of people. So I had to find a way to expand my comfort zone.
Last time I tried something new/different was couple of weeks ago. I was scared but I had no other choice, and after I did it I realized that there was no need for me to be scared. It was rather easy and quick to be done.
